Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary lies in Wayanad district of Kerala. It is contigous with the Nagarahole WLS in Kodagu district of Karnataka. At Tholpetty one can easily spot elephants, gaurs, chitals, Malabar squirrels, Peacocks etc. Carnivorous animals like Tigers and Lepoards also inhabit the forest. The Forest Department provides safari facilities at the entrance of the park.
Best time to visit Tholpetty WLS is during the post monsoon months of September to February.

KarnatakaSRTC runs one Rajahamsa from Bangalore to Kutta. From Kutta, Tholepetty is only 4km away and can be reached by auto or KeralaSRTC buses. Route 2 is 50km more than Route 1. One can reach Sulthan Bathery from Bangalore by direct KarnatakaSRTC and KeralaSRTC buses available from Bangalore. From Sulthan Bathery KeralaSRTC and private buses are available to Mananthavady. From Mananthavady KeralaSRTC buses going to Kutta are available which passess through Tholpetty.
