Srisailam is a temple town located in the heart of Nallamalla forest in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.The main temple at Srisailam is dedicated to Hindu deity Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Godess Bhramaramba. The temple is situated on the top a hill which is also known as Srigiri. At Srisailam there is a Dam constructed over the river Krishna. There is boating facility available at the Dam backwaters. Srisailam town lies inside the Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserves , which is hte largest tiger reserve in India in terms of area. The forest department arranges for safari inside the reserve.
Good time to visit Srisailam is during September to February. Summers are pretty dry with temperatures shooting above 40 degree Celsius

Direct APSRTC and KSRTC buses are available from Bangalore to Srisailam. Another way is to reach Kurnool in APSRTC ,KSRTC or IRCTC services from Bangalore. From Kurnool APSRTC buses are available till Srisailam. Private cabs can be hired at Srisailam and Kurnool
