About Ramakkal Medu

Ramakkal Medu is a cliff edge in Idukki district of Kerala. The whistling winds and spectacular views are the main attractions of Ramakkal Medu. The cliff edge gives an excellent view of countless paddy fields and villages on Tamil Nadu. Ramakkal Medu is always windy. The wind speeds are relatively higher than other places and there is a wind mill farm at the place. Route 1: Bangalore - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Dharmapuri - Salem - Erode - Kangayam - Dharapuram - Udumalpettai - Marayoor - Munnar - Poopara - Nedumkandam - Thookkupalam - Ramakkal Medu

From Bangalore KeralaSRTC and KarnatakaSRTC buses are available to Munnar. From Munnar private and KeralaSRTC buses are available to Thookkupalam. From Thookkupalam jeeps can be hired to reach Ramakkal Medu which is 15km away.
