Ooty is an internationally famous hill station located in Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu. The hill station resides in Nilgiri mountains and has its averege temperature much lower than the places around it. Ooty floods with tourists during summer month of May during which the annual flower show is conducted. Coonoor , Gudallur and Kotagiri are towns near to Ooty with many local attractions. The local attractions at Ooty include the botanical garden, lake , rose garden, Pykara falls and Dodabetta. The Bandipur NP and Mudumalai WLS are on the Ooty - Mysore road and one hour drive from Ooty. Black Thunder an amusement park in Mettupalayam is a well known adventurous hangout.

Route 1: Bangalore - Mysore - Nanjangudu - Gundelpet - Gudallur - Ooty.

KSRTC and SETC runs direct buses to Ooty from Bangalore. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is an exciting way to reach Ooty. For this, one has to reach Coimbatore in KSRTC, SETC or Train services available from Bangalore. From Coimbatore TNSTC and private buses are available to Mettupalayam. From Mettupalayam the Nilgiri Mountain train service is available to Ooty.
