The beach is 12km in length and has statues of various famous people erected along the road side. There are statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Robert Caldwell, Dr Annie Besant, M. G. Ramachandran, Subramaniya Barathiyar, GU Pope, Kannagi, Sivaji Ganesan and Kamarajar. There is also a Triumph of Labour Statue. Elliots Beach and Breezy Beach are other famous beaches at Chennai. Guindy National Park lies inside the Chennai city limits and hosts a variety of animals and birds. Adjacent to National Park there is a Snake Park and a Children's Park. The Arignar Anna Zoological Park also lies inside the Chennai city limits. There is a National Art Gallery which displays objects of bronze used during Chola period. Valluvar Kottam is an auditorium in Chennai where all the versus of Thirukural are inscribed on its pillars. There are many temples and churches in and around Chennai. There are many shopping opportunitites in Chennai like in George Town and Parrys Corner.
